Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to page URLs; this page is available as [Markdown](https://docs.dataloy.com/release-8.29-coming-soon/voyage-management-system/step-by-step-guides/navigation-menu.md).

# Navigation Menu

## Web Navigation

On the left hand side is the menu containing buttons for user management, main and sub-module navigation, as well as system configuration and collapsing of the side-menu.

In the first section you have the avatar button, that leads to your Account page for user specific customization. Notifications are also displayed here, followed by AiChat.

The settings icon in the bottom of the menu configures system wide settings. With another button for making the menu compact.

## Mobile Navigation

On mobile devices, navigation is handled through a persistent bottom navigation bar, giving you quick access to key areas of the application from wherever you are in the system.

Within drawers (such as Voyage, Cargo, or Port Call), a dedicated toggle lets you switch between Comments and Attachments without leaving the drawer. This means you can check supporting documents or read through a discussion without losing your place in the current screen.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.dataloy.com/release-8.29-coming-soon/voyage-management-system/step-by-step-guides/navigation-menu.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
