# Create a Claim

After clicking the create claim icon from the [claims list](/release-8.28/voyage-management-system/step-by-step-guides/claims.md), a modal will appear (see Figure 1).

The modal displays the essential details of the claim, required and extra fields.\
By proceeding with the claim creation, the [claim drawer](/release-8.28/voyage-management-system/step-by-step-guides/claims/claim-drawer.md) will open, allowing further claim management.
