# Maintain Market Indices and Market Index Values
## Overview tab
The overview tab gives you access to the details of the market index, as well as a list of spot and current forward-curve market index values. For regular market indices, there is the option to turn it into a [Protected Market Index](/release-8.25/voyage-management-system/step-by-step-guides/chartering/market-indices/protected-market-indices.md), while a [Custom Market Index](/release-8.25/voyage-management-system/step-by-step-guides/chartering/market-indices/custom-market-indices.md) will in its place have a lumpsum adjustment field.
The Last Updated field shows the date of when the most recently updated market index value was updated.
## **Historical Forward Curve tab**
This tab displays a list of all market index values for the index that are categorized as Historical Forward. Read more about the different types of market index values [here](/release-8.25/voyage-management-system/step-by-step-guides/chartering/market-indices/market-index-value-types.md).
## Deleting a Market Index
A Market Index must first be *disabled*. Click the  button in the top right corner to open the secondary actions. Choose the "Disable" option. Click the  button again, and then choose the "Delete" option. A confirmation modal will also show up, click Delete.
