The tiered freight rates feature of the Cargoes module lets you model more advanced rate structures.
A dropdown selector at the top lets you select different pricing models your tiers should be based on.
Tiered: In tiered pricing, the per-unit freight rate are assigned to quantity-based ranges (tiers). When calculating the total freight, quantities are purchased from successive tiers, starting from the lowest.
Volume: As with tiered pricing, the freight rate is quantity-based. However, the per-unit freight rate is dependent on the range within which the total quantity falls. So under this model, you would define the quantity ranges and the per-unit freight rate for each.
Click Create to add a new tier.
In the dialog window, enter the quantity at which the tier should start at, the freight rate per unit of quantity, and a flat-fee lump sum.
When you create a new tier or edit an existing tier, the end of the range of the previous tier is automatically adjusted to align with it.
